Rice Crispy Treats have been a favorite in our family for a long time. Our two kids, ages seven and five, not only love to eat them. They also love to help make them. The recipe from Sweetness without Sugar is so easy that I’m sure your kids will love to help too.
Sweetened with healthier brown rice syrup, Rice Crispy Treats still taste great. And coconut cream makes a satisfying substitute for marshmallow, as brown rice crispy cereal gives it the crunchiness you expect. I also add coconut oil, almond butter and vanilla. To make it as healthy as possible, I try to use all organic and non-GMO ingredients.
This recipe is so quick to make, I’ve whipped it up in the morning before school to go in the kids’ lunches. And I’m not even a morning person!
The video walks you through this very do-able and healthy take on a beloved classic.
